What is your story?

I grew up in Niceville, Florida with my dad, mom, 2 older brothers, and younger sister. My parents love Jesus and taught me to love Jesus. When I was seven years old, at a small Baptist church, I felt the weight of my sin and need for a savior, and I put my faith in Christ. I was baptized shortly after that. After graduation, I attended college in my home town, getting a Bachelors in Project Management. I then served as a pastoral intern at First Baptist Orlando before moving to New Orleans to attend seminary. Shortly following that move, I was called to Corinth Baptist and that’s that.

What are your spiritual gifts?

According to the gifts listed in Romans 12, the Lord has equipped and blessed me with prophecy (not breathing fire and having dreams), leadership, and teaching.

Who are your inspirations?

Obviously, Jesus Christ lived the model life, was the greatest teacher and leader, and was the most loving person ever to live so He is the greatest inspiration. Non-divine inspirations of mine are Ernest Walker (my grandfather), Steve Walker (my father), C.S. Lewis, James S. Stewart, John Owen, William Carey, John Piper, Matt Chandler, Rick Warren, Andy Stanley, and all the pastors at FBC Orlando.

What do you do in your free time?

I have heard that most Greek students use their “free” time to study Greek but I have not found that level of dedication…yet. I play guitar and sports when I can. Also, I do a lot of reading. I always said I wouldn’t be a reader but I find myself in books when I have the time.

What sports teams do you root for?

For football, I like the Patriots. Baseball, Yankees. Basketball, Lakers. I’m a bandwagoner, it’s true. The Saints are growing on me though.
